Scriptorium Writing Desk
Scriptorium is a desk that asks to be sat at rather than merely used. Its writing surface is a single leaf of Persian walnut — Juglans regia, from timber Tania Fiuzie inherited and milled herself and shaped entirely by hand, its path documented so that provenance is a fact and not a flourish, with nothing owed across any border. Two shallow drawers glide on hand-fitted runners; their fronts are cut from one continuous piece so the grain runs unbroken across the closed face. The top overhangs a slender trestle base, leaving the knees free. 150 × 70 × 74 cm. Oiled by hand, signed and dated beneath the right drawer. A single desk for a single correspondent.
