Meridian Dining Table
Meridian is the table a house is arranged around. A single span of Persian walnut — Juglans regia, from a tree Tania Fiuzie's family tended and milled decades ago, her own timber shaped start to finish by her own hands, its journey documented board by board with no money crossing into Iran — carries a live central seam where two halves of the same log meet again. At 240 × 100 × 74 cm it seats ten without crowding. The top rests on four sculptural hand-turned legs, one at each corner — each a single turned form: a rounded goblet cup meeting the underside, a slender turned rod, and a rounded capsule foot standing on the floor. No two are quite alike; no visible hardware. Oiled by hand over many days, the grain shifts from cinnamon to near-black as the light moves. Signed beneath the apron. One exists; there will be no second.
