Vessel No. I
Vessel No. I is where the collection begins and ends: a single bowl turned by hand from one block of her own Persian walnut — Juglans regia, from Tania Fiuzie's own gifted timber, its origin recorded plainly and owing nothing across any border. Turned green and allowed to find its own slight ovality as it dried, it is not a perfect circle and was never meant to be; the small distortion is the record of the wood drying in Tania's hands. The walls are worked thin enough to lift easily yet hold a full harvest of fruit. Finished inside and out with food-safe oil. 38 cm across, one of a kind, signed on the foot.
