Ayeneh Studio

Ayeneh Studio practices āyeneh-kāri — mirror mosaic — the hand-cut technique traditionally used to line the interiors of Persian shrines with faceted glass, brought down in scale here and set instead into festival cotton pieces. Each mirror fragment is cut and placed by hand, angled individually so it catches light differently depending on the viewer's position, a decision that can't be replicated by any printed or machine-applied approximation of the effect. The studio's artisans trained within the same craft lineage that maintains shrine mosaics, which is part of why the geometry reads as precise rather than decorative-generic. Based in Iran, the studio's textiles reach ATG through a screened export partner who manages compliant shipping and customs into the EU.
