Dara works in weft-faced weaving and hand-dyed wool, producing textiles on a floor loom in a practice passed down through her family rather than learned in a workshop. Her pieces are known for irregular, hand-spun yarn that catches light unevenly across a single panel — a deliberate departure from the machine-even surface of most commercial weaving — and for natural dyes drawn from walnut husk, pomegranate rind, and madder root that shift slightly from batch to batch. Because Dara lives and works inside Iran, ATG does not transact with her directly: she is reached and lawfully paid through a screened gallery intermediary based outside the country, which handles sourcing, payment, and export compliance. Every piece that reaches ATG has passed through that documented, sanctions-screened route before it ever ships.
